Two UALA members quoted in article in Legal Management magazine

Scott Mecham and Lorie Springer, UALA members with Durham Jones & Pinegar, are quoted in the cover story of the Association of Legal Administrator’s November/December 2009 issue of Legal Management. The article by Phillip M. Perry titled Creating a Great Law Firm, provides ideas and examples of things administrators are doing to make their law firms great.  To see what Scott and Lorie had to say, pick up your copy that came in the mail or click on the link to view a pdf version of the article.  Link to Creating a Great Law Firm article.

December Chapter Meeting

Well it is the first day of December and if your life is anything like mine the holidays are the furthest thing from your mind. With year end budgeting and partner comp we can all use a little break. So, let’s celebrate and have some fun.

Our UALA holiday party is scheduled for Tuesday, December 22nd at 12:30. We will enjoy a wonderful lunch at the Lion House and, don’t forget, our white elephant exchange. If you plan on attending the lunch, please bring a $10 gift for this wild and crazy group to tackle and steal from each other (not to violate any harassment laws, of course). We will also have some great gifts for the chapter prize drawing.

2009 Community Challege

On Friday, October 16, 2009, several members of the Utah Association of Legal Administrators (UALA) participated in ALA’s Community Challenge Weekend by serving lunch to those in need at the St. Vincent de Paul Dining Room near downtown Salt Lake City. It was a gratifying way to provide charitable service and to work shoulder to shoulder with fellow chapter members and those who operate this exceptional facility. Special thanks to Mark Hall, UALA past president, for coordinating this service activity.
